iRobot Roomba 694"
The Roomba from iRobot is a basic robot vacuum that is effective on both bare flooring and carpets with low pile. It has good suction, but struggles with larger debris like sand or grains of rice. The Roomba 694 is simple to use. It has three buttons on its top cover. This vacuum cleaner is slower than some other models, but it can be able to reach the majority of corners and crevices. It has a big bin that makes it easy to empty. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers which lets you program the robot to stay out of certain areas, or even stop cleaning altogether to prevent it from becoming stuck.
Although it's not the most efficient model in its price range however, it's superior to many other options. You should also consider other models in the iRobot range, like the v7 or the 981. Shark RV1001AE IQ
This budget self-emptying robot vacuum cleaner does a great job on low-pile carpet and hard flooring. Its combination brush reaches the edges and corners and automatically increases suction when it senses carpet. It also is effective in cleaning dirt embedded in carpets that are mid-pile. The IQ's tiny dock footprint and self-emptying feature are great features. If you want to change the floor levels or set areas that are not allowed to be used, you'll need to manually reset the map.
The IQ app offers some advanced mapping and automated features, however it lacks no-go zones. They are only available on iRobot robots. Its smart-pathing navigational system results in greater maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, although it does have a tendency to get caught up on rug tassels, and its iHome speaker allows you to control the robot with voice commands.
During our tests, we found that the IQ was able to handle pet hair effectively. It was able to remove the majority of hair on floors that were unfinished, and a fair amount on medium-pile rug. It was less effective on shag carpets, as it struggled to get at dirt and dust buried within the fibers. It was able to maneuver the legs of a chair, tiny spaces, and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. We did notice it was a bit slower on bare floors however it soon recovered speed and performed better than the other robots we tried.
The IQ is a better choice over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most applications. It has a bigger dustbin, a longer battery life and is more adept at navigating around obstacles. It comes with mopping tools that are able to remove sticky messes. The iRobot is, however, feels better built and has less components that require maintenance or replacement and incurs fewer ongoing costs, and can even create virtual no go zones using its companion app. It is able to even resume the cleaning process from where it left off if it has run out of battery before having completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice, which can be an enormous benefit for many users.
Eufy 11S
The RoboVac 11S robotic vacuum isn't among the most advanced models, but it does offer powerful cleaning power at an affordable price. This vacuum was made for those who are budget conscious and don't require a complicated mapping system, or an application to control it. This robot will last for up to an hour. It comes with the remote control, cleaning tool, and AC power adapter.
The 11S is slim, elegant and has a tempered glass upper deck that appears like brushed aluminum. It's a refreshing departure from the utilitarian and industrial designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.
The eufy11S was successful in our tests at removing larger particles and fine dust from hard flooring. It struggled to deep clean carpets with high and medium piles. The device also has a tendency to smack into furniture and people that are in its path, but it's able to detect these obstacles using sensors. It ceases and emits a loud ring when it comes across an obstruction. You can then manually steer the device around the obstacle and restart it.
Another great aspect of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode, which allows you to set the robot to automatically adjust its suction power to match the type of floor and the level of dirt. It's also easy to use the remote to direct the 11S where you'd like it to move.
If you don't have much furniture in the area you'd like to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent alternative. The eufy will take 30 minutes focusing on cleaning the space it is assigned to.
You can also opt for Edge Cleaning, which limits the amount of time spent in each area to 20 minutes for maximum battery life. This feature allows the eufy to move in a spiraling pattern cleaning edges and corners.
Miele Complete C1
The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range canister robot vacuum that can be a great performer on carpet. Its performance on bare floors is also outstanding. It can pick up small particles like rice effortlessly and doesn't lose suction power even when its dirt bin gets full. Its air-sealed, allergy-friendly design traps allergens and keep your family healthy. It comes with an onboard HEPA and self-emptying bin, so you don't need any additional filters or a vacuum bag.
It's not quite as powerful as other models, but it's great for deep cleaning and tackling stains. Its two front cameras deliver a live image feed on your smartphone, and it features one of the top obstacle avoidance systems we've seen. It also has a big dustbin, a long running time and a speedy clean-up that is free of bumps.
